As a semi-professional bookworm, I consider it my most important duty to visit independent bookstores across the country. So, when I landed in Los Angeles, CA, I looked up some of the best bookstores in the city — and I found a true bookworm treasure: The Last Bookstore in Downtown LA.
It’s perfect for used books, new books, booktagram moments and just about everything in between. Imagine two stories of books, art and photo moments. I mean, I really appreciate a bookstore that knows the importance of a good bookstagram shot. (Be on the lookout for some of these photos on my Instagram page over the next month. ?)
This bookstore is amazing, and here are the photos to prove it.
The vintage sign
Gorgeous design
Rainbow shelves
Stacks on stacks
Window to… more books!
Whimsical details
Sci-fi bookshelves
And the book arch!
If these photos didn’t convince you to buy a flight out to California ASAP, I don’t know what will. The Last Bookstore is one of the coolest bookstores I have ever been in and I wish I had been able to dive into all the stacks and find hidden, bookish treasures. I’ll just have to go again — it’s normal to want to spend 5 hours at a bookstore, right?
Tell me… what are some of your favorite independent bookstores? I’ve been to a few, but I would love to know the best bookstores in your area. I need to know so I can visit them and take in all the bookish glory.
I live so close and I’ve never been (actually never knew about this bookstore pre-bookstagram). I definitely need to check it out!
Definitely! It was the coolest bookstore I’ve been to and so fun to look around!
